If you have urgent, real-time information regarding an active missing child or fugitive, immediately call 911 or the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

For historical cold case tips, our bureau reviews all submissions and forwards actionable leads directly to the primary investigating detective and FBI ViCAP.

Case Evaluation Requirements:

When submitting a cold case for our free advocacy review, please include:

  • Full legal name and known aliases of the missing or deceased person.
  • Date and exact geographic location of last contact.
  • NamUs ID number or local police case number (if one exists).
  • Availability of dental records, medical X-rays, or surviving immediate biological family members (parents, siblings, children) willing to provide reference DNA.
